While doing the laundry I grabbed a pair of CowBoy’s (5yo) jeans to wash. I seldom, if EVER, check pockets when doing laundry. I KNOW! Actually, I try to make sure they (the other people who live in this house) become independent people and take care of their own things like “if you put something in your pocket to save it then care enough about it to take it out and put it away because it might get ruined or if it’s money it’s my pay for doing YOUR laundry.”
Anyway…I felt something in his pocket so I decided to see what it was. It was two dice. I called him to me because I wanted him to put them back in the game from which he got them (I hate not having all the pieces to a game when we sit down to play). I can not describe the conversation more clearly than to just share how it transpired.
Me: CowBoy, come hither please. (yes, I really do tease them and say come hither…sometimes.)
CowBoy: OK, coming thither. Where are you?
Me: In the laundry room.
CowBoy: Yes, ma’am, did I do something? Am I in trouble? (This always makes me wonder what he has done I don’t yet know about.)
Me: No, honey, I just want you to go put these back in the game from which you got them. From which box did you take them?
CowBoy: OH, I wondered where I put those; I was just shooting Craps.
Who says homeschoolers are underexposed, over-sheltered, and unsocialized?
Seriously though: WHO TAUGHT MY 5YO ABOUT SHOOTING CRAPS?!?!?!
too funny! yah, i often wonder where my kids learn certain things, but this one tops all my stories. Craps???
