the SmockLady - Redesigned
So I decided to go ahead and upload the newness I have been working on. It is that time of year when I like to change with the seasons and holidays. While it is my blog and I can do with it as I please (hear the evil laughter: Mwahahaha and see the rubbing hands) you, my dear readers have to look at it too. So share your opine with me please. I may take your opine in to consideration or I may throw it to the wind and watch the blow away with the leaves. (Mwahahaha) Not really, I only pretend to be mean and evil. If you find something that does not work correctly please let me know. I did put it up quickly and very well may have missed something. I did check it in both FireFox (the best browser), IE (the inferior browser), and Chrome (the newest browser). I have not checked it out it Opera or Safari. Other than color changes the biggest difference is my comment section and I still don’t have it how I want it; I keep waffling between two ideas and can not decide. So I just went with what I last did.
Look at the screen shots, play around on the site, and answer the poll. Please?!
So here are the screen shots of the two new redesigned:
The one I titled Autumn (scrapbook style, not great but I was in a hurry and playing mostly)

The one I titled Fall (plain jane style, just like it has been but color changes)

So dear readers please tell me which you like best. More importantly tell me why. Please let me know if it is just your preference (which is one thing) or if it is not working (an entirely different thing and a bit more important). I do expect some comments after you leave you answer the poll as I happen to know that many of you, if not all, have strong opinions that like their voices heard (why else would be blogging too - Bwahahaha).
Which SmockLady Redesign do you like best?
- Autumn (scrapbook style) (91%)
- Fall (plain jane style, like old but new colors) (9%)

loving it!
oooh, i have a different monster now, too! score!!
reDEsigned! Phew! Reading your facebook status on my tiny little cell phone screen, I thought it said “resigned” your blog…I would have missed you!
karens last blog post..It’s 8:11am, and…
Triple M - thanks, I’m glad you like it. The new monsters were not planned, but kind of a side effect of a new implementation of avatars in WordPress. I decided to no longer use the plugin and use the built in version to simplify a few things on my admin end. I miss the other ones though - they were more artsy, a bit more my style.
karen - thanks, glad to know I would be missed.
It looks great! And I am wondering what little monster I might get. :)
lorimos last blog post..A CAR!
I hope I don’t resemble my monster.
Does my hair really look that bad? Yikes, I better find a hairdresser now.
I like the scrappy look :) I think because I’m always a sucker for color, but also because it’s less… oh I don’t know, institutional? than the previous look? Looks more homey, comfortable…
Herb of Grace’s last blog post . . . In the Life of Sofi
Hello, SmockLady! I’m SmockDaddy’s old friend on “that other blog.” Thought I would quit lurking and introduce myself.
I like that your redesigned text is large and easy to read. I’m going farsighted, as I constantly must complain about, and it is quite helpful to be able to see entries. Now, the comments text box (that one types in) is kinda light! Not too upset about that, however.
Oooh, pretty! I hope my hair looks better than Holley’s…
Nope. I think I’m a piece of chocolate that grew legs. Nomnomnom
MK’s last blog post . . . It’s been a long time…
Holley - the only time your hair ever remotely looked like that was the time (or one of the times) you walked around picking up A’s hair clips as you cleaned and not having enough hands to hold them you began sticking them in your hair. Or maybe the time I came over to help you highlite your hair - your hair, the cap - yep, that about describes it. Love you.
Herb of Grace - I mostly agree with you, although this kind of theme takes longer to change with the seasons. We’ll see how long I can keep it up. :) I’ve already started on the changes for October.
Cap’n - glad to “see” you. I have been a bit worried about the comment text color, lighter than I planned, change is coming.
MK - yep, hair like Holley’s. And chocolate is good.
lorimo - your monster is blue. I like blue.
Now what is with all you women and your hair?!
I like the scrapbook feel.
The only problem I’m having is scrolling side to side to see the entire page. Which I didn’t have to do before, but it’s not a biggie in my book.
I use firefox.
cc’s last blog post . . . I Must Be 80
I like these mosters better because the other one looked grouchy, and I’m not….all the time. ;)
cc - i was a bit afraid that would happen. I did not want to change the size of my actual content section, so I just stretched the width to accommodate the new borders. I like staying within a certain width for validation of accessibility, but that is where I tend to rebel a bit. I try to take into account those who have their monitors set to granny mode (800 wide) or those who don’t have monitors as big as mine. BTW, I’m not saying you have yours set to granny mode, but I knew that would happen for some readers. How much is off your screen?
Triple M - now it looks like you are yelling. HA! And your monster needs to go to the dentist.
I think he looks like a pirate saying, “Arggh!” And I dig that!
I like the new look. And I’m curious as to what I’ll be :)
mamalang’s last blog post . . . I’m not going to write you…
