Princerella got a package
Today I went out to the post box to see if our mail had yet arrived and it had indeed. There was a package and all my children got excited. Oh. so. very. excited!
Lots of “whose is it?” and “is it mine?” comments coming at me with full volume. I may have even witnessed a few jumping up and down, but do not hold me to it.
I ran to get my camera and called my Precious Princerella to open her package. I can not tell you how happy I was that she got hers first. She does not quite understand time and it is sometimes devastating to her when they are all supposed to be getting something and hers is not quite “ready”. Now don’t get me wrong. I do not cater to everyone must be equal in all things. Meaning, if it’s not a certain child’s special day (i.e. birthday, graduation, etc) then they don’t get the presents, special attention, they give it. I am all for equal opportunity, but can not stand equal outcome by force. AND (gasp) when a new baby enters our family we do not allow every child to be given gifts. I explain it this way: when it’s their birthday they get the gifts.
But other times it is hard for them to understand. Like when there is no special day or reason for presents and some come anyway, but they don’t all arrive at the same time. This is hard for young ones to grasp, but especially her (sometimes). So I was totally thrilled that this first time around the block of the I’ll Trade You . . . children swaps she got hers first. It will make all the other times easier.

My precious little Princerella has a deep seeded fascination with pigs. She will be 7 years old on the 6th of August. This child has been in love with pigs since she was two; we are talking five years now. I thought this was a fascination that would pass like most childhood loves that come and go. She has Ty Pig named CorkScrew. She has a beloved stuffed pig from Build-a-Bear (limited edition, no longer available) that oinks lovingly at her and wears a pink tutu and stretchy shirt and is named Petunia. She sleeps with this pig and sometimes her sisters are awakened by the oink! oink! of the pig sound.
If we were ever able to buy a farm I would seriously consider buying this girl a pig. In the meantime, her love of pigs will have to be settled with toys and books. This book swap from flickrfriend thefrazzledmama’s little guy was just perfect.
For those of you who can not tell what that first book is (because she was shaking it up and down with such excitement the photo is blurry), it’s Mercy Watson to the Rescue. And a Junie B. Jones to boot.
Little Mr. E. made her a special book mark (I didn’t get a picture of that because she was holding it soooo tight and her little brothers were trying to take it form her).
Then my sweeties informed me that the last part of the package was for me. Pour moi? Little ole me? How sweet is that?! I didn’t get to open mine until later as someone was so excited to look at her books. But mine is One Thing you can’t do in Heaven by Mark Cahill. Seriously, thefrazzledmama, that was very kind of you to think of me like that. This is a very easy way to spoil me. You really didn’t have to and I thank you very much!

You are SO very welcome Smock. I am glad she liked her books and bookmark. I showed your post to my little guy, he was a bit confused. :) And then he said he was going to go make another bookmark. Too cute!

Yay! I was mean, PB’s came yesterday but I didn’t let her open it. We got home very late last night, and she was leaving this afternoon for a camping trip with a lot of other kids, so I knew she wouldn’t be able to fully appreciate it. Also, she didn’t complete the task I gave her for her swap buddy, so now she has to wait :)
I’m glad she got hers and was so excited. I know how much I love to get mail, and it’s even cooler for them. Thanks again for organizing!

How very exciting!
We are finishing up something for your little guy, but can’t send it until we get your address. Could you email/flickr mail it to me?
Thank you so much for starting this and all the work that you have done!
