I love bokeh. I don’t understand how to make it happen on purpose so I set out trying to learn. The holidays are a great time to practice with all the lights, especially Christmas tree lights.
After we decorated our tree tonight I set out playing with a home made snowflake (faux) filter and our Christmas tree.

I guess I made that word up.
This cold weather blew in very fast. Every place around us, but where we live, got snow. The children overheard the Weather Channel say the word snow for our area and I lost them completely for a bit yesterday. They completely ignored the words possible and % chance from what was said. It was rather hard to keep them on task for school.
I must admit that it was hard for me to stay on task as well. This weather blew in so fast it made me fall hard. I spent most of the day yesterday wrapped up trying to get warm, aching all over, and feeling miserable in general. I never developed fever, so I just pushed through when I had to. SmockDaddy is usually home or at least has a light day on Fridays so I could baby myself a little bit. I fell asleep yesterday afternoon and took a nap. Anyone who knows me, knows or has at least heard me speak about how much I hate to nap. I wake from naps feeling gross and cranky. I do better just pushing myself on through to a possible early bed time if I’m really tired. I tend to only succumb to the nap if I’m ill. Which had me concerned a bit that I was coming down with something.

A love-hate conundrum

My hair and I have a love/hate relationship. Really. I am not a vain person. I could be, easily. I am not a high maintenance wife. I could be, and love it. I could thoroughly enjoy a day at a spa with a manicure (I’ve had two for those before) and a pedicure (I’ve never had one of those) and I could thoroughly go for a facial and a scalp massage. I do almost anything for a deep tissue back massage (or even a full body one).
[hang on a sec, I need to sip some of my hot cocoa.]
I like makeup. I like playing with colors and seasons and what brings out my natural shades and what doesn’t. I don’t like to look all made up and obvious, but if I don’t wear some makeup one would notice the growing spots near my left temple where my skin is bleaching out. It’s not as noticeable since I started wearing 1,000+spf sun screen. I figure it be easier to die from all those chemicals than it would to get skin cancer.
