MAIL’S HERE!

I didn’t get a pic done yesterday for the December Photo Project. But that is the kind of day yesterday was.

I had a very interesting facebook commenting conversation with a sweet friend yesterday. I guess it really was funny more than interesting.

She kept asking me how the weather was. Or if I had gone out to errands or did I stay home, inside out of the cold. She was cracking me up. Apparently she was aiming to see if any shipments or packages had arrived at my front door. Sweet friend had sent me a surprise and she had gotten delivery notification. Me? I got nothing! Well, that was yesterday.

So today when the doorbell rang I jumped right up to my feet and snatched a box right out of the mailman’s hands graciously accepted my mail from the mailman before I slammed the door on his face too excited to care, thanks him, wished him a Merry Christmas, and then gently closed the door on the freezing cold air outside.

I danced around the kids singing, “I got a present, I got a present. It’s for me-ee. It’s for me-ee. I don’t have to sha-are. neener neener neener.” Then I ran to my bedroom office studio stroomdio (It’s a conundrum now that our family room is my bedroom AND my office/studio. More on that later.) to rip into my present!

I did stop to take a picture to commemorate this special occasion of the first present of the gifting season! Woot! and it’s aaaaaalll mine! Muahahaha.

Then I opened the box to find my favorite thing in the world to play with (OK, not my favorite, but my almost favorite):

BUBBLE WRAP!

Seriously who doesn’t love bubble wrap. I like it so much I downloaded this free app just so I could pop bubbles whenever, wherever I want.

After I popped all the bubbles I decided to see what else is in the box. You know the real present. psst, I didn’t really take the tiime to pop all those bubbles. I was too excited! Looky, what my sweet friend sent me!

She read my post about my hair and stuff and she sent me some sleep over, pillow fight, dress up, giggle-with-the-girls, let’s-do-each-others-make-up Avon goodies. So I never was the sleep over, pillow fight, dress up, giggle-with-the-girls, let’s-do-each-others-make-up kind of girl, but I could have been (more than 20 years ago) if I had had the friends. Although I do recall helping a friend pull her hair through one of those cap things so she could highlight her hair. THAT is friendship, let me tell you. Just kidding; I’d do again if I didn’t have to drive four and a half hours away to do it. FIne, truth be told she knows I ‘d drive it if she called and asked me to. Oh, look a squirrel!

So tomorrow when I get up and get ready for the day I’m gonna put on a fresh face before I run my errands. I am very excited about it. The colors look perfect; I can’t wait to see how they look.

You know what makes this gift awesome? She gave me something with thought. She didn’t just grab something to send me, she sent me something that I had mentioned, she thought about my skin tones and my hair color and all that stuff and sent me something that means more than just sending me a gift. I’m not putting down other gifts, I am just so touched by the thoughtfulness.

p.s. Now, thanks to Heather, I have a new covet book too. They put a catalog in the box!!!
