I have other pressing needs today
So here are few pics to satisfy the need and keep me on track with NaBloPoMo and the kitchen preps.
Just a few groceries:

If you are going to have a 28 pound turkey you might as well have 28 pounds of sweet potatoes too.

I do not know how many pounds that really is, but remember, there are eight of us. And at $.25 a pound how could I NOT buy that many. I’ll pick out a few for the casserole for Thanksgiving ((I can NOT believe I left that off of yesterday’s list. SHAME on me! I’ll update that post so it is there as well.)), another 8 for baking for next weeks menu, and the rest will get partially baked and frozen for later use. So see, it’s not really that much.
And a wall of thanks. Some preschool/kindergarten wall art. My little banner I made from allsorts’ letters. I re-sized them a bit, and colorized them via Photoshop. Thanks to falwyn for getting me past the "I’m stuck" phase with Photoshop. I couldn’t figure out how to get them out of b&w mode. I didn’t even know it was a mode - just change them to RGB and have at the colorizing. DOH! It was easy. Now I have them ready for all kinds of fun things with the children. Plans, baby, I got plans.

If I can get back on later, I have a funny story to share.
Love the Thanksgiving art! Thanks for sharing and have a great Turkey Day :)

TheAngelForever - I love the home made kid art (and your avatar too, btw.
Ann - I can hardly wait.
MMM - actually, that’s not that much food - it’s probably half of what we needed, I just already had a good bit of it in the staples department. Remember, we are 8 (twice you guys, plus two more adults). The paint: thanks. I have some touch up to do and then the after the feasting, next week, the back of the big shelf unit will have dark red added to it. That should tone down some of the gold a bit.
We are having 2 plus us, and that seemed like a lot of food at the time, but I’m not doing anything from scratch this year, so yours seems like a lot to me!! :)

Everything looks great! I love the Thanksgiving banner. I may use allsorts letters for Christmas. You know what I noticed in the food photo? French Fried Onions, yummy! I wish we could get those here.

We are also 8 here. Twenty-five cents a pound? I wish I could find that price here, too! I’d stock up just like you did!
I came over here to look for that sweet potato recipe! So glad you added it. We’re having dinner w/ the inlaws but they don’t like sweet potatoes so I’m making my own for the weekend! (plus my own dressing b/c theirs is made w/ SALTINES - *shudders*). Anyway, I knew yours didn’t have marshmallows and it was exactly what I was looking for - thanks!
And I’ll be thinking of your family as Christmas gets closer. We only have two wee ones - but w/ hubby in school $$$ is still tight and, well, even though I know all our needs will be taken care of, it’s hard to wait and be patient. Especially with children. I know I only know what you write here, but I’m praying for you and your family. I know what kind of stress $$$ can put on a person, family, and marriage.
