…and our TV…
Each night after supper we read some scripture, talk about it, then have a few minutes of intercessory prayer. SmockDaddy opens the prayer and then we all each have time to lift up those for whom we wish to lift in prayer. Sometimes it’s just a name said knowing God knows the need, sometimes it’s more.
Our TV died a number of months ago; we were blessed enough to have inherited another TV from a church member. Both our TVs (the little 15″ in our bedroom I bought when I was in college) and the big one in the den are old. The new-to-us one is about as old as the little one in our bedroom. Both TVs are the old square round-front screen so we don’t get the outside edges of the format. Neither one allows us to hook up the children’s Wii and we had an old-fashioned rig set up to watch movies, but the TV is dying. When we watch TV shows are so dark we can hardly tell the picture is there and when we watch a DVD it is so bright we can’t see the pic. So we are almost desperate for something new.
Lately, every night when we say our prayers at the table Bairno chimes in at his turn with “and all the people at church.” I used to guide him with name suggestions, but Bairno finally decided to start a bit on his own instead of me guiding him and it’s really sweet. Recently, like the past week and a half, Bairno has been saying multiple times a prayer “and our TV.” I think he misses PBS Word World and watching UP.

Oh how I wish I could!
I wish I lived near you…my sister gave us her tv when she bought a flat screen and we don’t have anywhere to put it.
I, too, wish you lived closer…I have a few decent tv’s that we don’t need!
