First and foremost at the moment let me ask those of you reading from a feed reader to do me a favor: leave me a quick comment to let me know if you are getting the entire post or just the ‘teaser’ (before the more tag). OH, and which reader you subscribe to please. Since I upgraded to WP2.1 my entire post will not show for feed subscribers - no matter what. It’s just the way 2.1 seems to be. One solution would be for me to quit using the more tag, but nope, not gonna happen. Wouldn’t be prudent at this time - as I tend to get long winded so often. Now that I have taken the time to search and find a plug-in to assist with this I think that my posts on my front page can still use the more tag and the feeds get the whole post as well. But I need you to let me know if it worked this time. Because, personally, I don’t often click through to an original post when all I get is a teaser, unless the teaser really grabs my attention and interest enough to click on through. I think that’s true of many subscribers, not just me. Maybe I’m wrong. Anyway, please let me know.
Before my next two things of late I am inserting the more tag here.
Last night after we got home from a class at church where CowBoy is playing in the nursery with some other children we asked him if he had fun playing. He, rather excitedly informed us of all the fun he had. What we found most interesting and call me biased, but smart of him, was the names of the two boys he played with the most. Their ‘names’ were Tarzan and Baseball and he said his was T-Rex Dinosaur. Last night he was wearing a navy blue shirt with a T-Rex on it, so can you guess what the other boys were wearing?
Today I drove over to the mall (a forty-ish minute drive) to find me something to wear to church. I lost some initial weight after this baby, but as naturally would occur it has levelled off and I’m still about fifteen pounds over what I was before I got preggers this time and it’s hanging around my belly that I am having trouble getting flat again. It’s just enough to make everything I have be too tight in which to feel comfortable. I am speaking physical comfort as well as my vanity’s comfort and psychological state. I will not resign myself to accepting this belly bulge - it will go away! Most of my weekly daytime wear is not so much of a problem as I am a creature of comfort, but when it comes to dressing up my style is a very tailored one, not tight (or sexy - but hey), just tailored and fitted. Therefore I don’t have much that will fit properly or for that matter even close around the middle. I have one red dress that is quite nice and I like a lot, but it is not conducive to nursing a wee babe easily during church as I have to unbutton it down to my waist to even get it open enough to nurse - so, um, no, not an option right now. When he isn’t nursing every two hours and we can go from before we leave the house to say maybe lunchtime to nurse, then yeppers, it will get worn again. I went to Dillard’s. It is one of my favorite stores because they have a large section of petite clothes and their petite sizes don’t assume that petite means tiny or small waisted - just shorter like it really means. There are short people who don’t wear size 2, 4, and 6, you know. Some of us short people wear 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16. And Dillard’s has petites to fit everyone of those sizes! So I stroll back to the short people section and look for the sales avoiding the obvious fall clothes and looking for something that will work through the next month or so, at least, of cool-but-not-cold, warm-but-not-hot, winter-going-out, spring-coming-in days. I found a great light black skirt, a sweater shell, and a 3/4 length sleeve sweater - all on sale. I also found this great lightweight bright green Springy looking sweater on clearance as well and of course I had to get it so that I don’t wear the same boring outfit for the next 5 or 6 weeks to church. I spent right at $100.00 - I think I did pretty good for four pieces of nice clothing and four pair of pantyhose - the good ones.
Boy did I get off on a tangent - I was going to tell you all something totally different about my trip to the mall. We got there a little later than I wanted to get there, so I was kind of booking it fast from here to there and realized about 11:30a that somebody needed to nurse so we went to chik-fil-a and had us some nuggets and fruit cup/bowl and some sit down time. We left there to hit the shoe store for SmockDaddy. He had to have new shoes! No questions asked. See?
Old
How ’bout some closeups of that?
New
Anyway, as we were heading to the shoe store from the feeding grounds I was stopped by a man who handed me a Pier 1 Imports gift card (actually, he was speaking to both of us and remarked about SmockDaddy’s hands being full since he was holding CowBoy who was almost asleep and he said, “I’ll give it to her. Your hands seem a bit full.”). He said, “I had a dream last night to make the world a better place. I want you to have this. Enjoy.” I was speechless and stunned and he was off before I could say anything to him at all. I looked back and he was gone and I couldn’t find him and there wasn’t a big crowd either. I thought to myself, “Well, it probably just has a few dollars on it that he didn’t want to worry with, leftovers from a gift to him.” I like Pier 1 - I really like Pier 1. I knew I didn’t have time to go there today, but I decided to call the 800 number on the back of the card to find out how much was on it. Guess how much was on the balance? Go ahead, guess. Come one, just take a guess!
$200.00!
Did you get that?
$ 2 0 0 . 0 0 !
Guess where I’ll be Friday morning?
Holley, you wanna meet me there?

If you mean In H’ville, absolutely. Now if you talking s-port, sorry, I promised myself I would never step foot in that place again. If you are really coming to me, I will be there. Let me know. Jackson also do-able. Is that a word? Call me!
Ack. I came in here for two seconds and now I’m distracted. I’m supposed to be doing my house cleaning that did not get done last week. I’ll call you tonight, after showchoir. Yes it never ends.
I believe there are angels among us…….
Hi :)
I don’t use a feedreader but I wish I could - I’m a bloglines dependant gal but it won’t pick up your feeds.
I’m really terrible about manually checking through my bookmarks for blogs that don’t have feeds, or I’d be here a lot more often!
Anyway, holy cow you lucky girl thanks for sharing that sweet story with us!
um. my complaint doesn’t have anything to do with your more tag but with the rss feed. I have one for you on my firefox and it shows me new entries but when i go to the home link, it doesn’t.
